Short skip-back option-

Wanna hear that killer lick again? That's what the short skip back option is for. In settings you can enable an additional skip-back button. Jump back 3, 5, 10, 15 or 30 seconds. Also works in Carplay.

New Explore Page- Instruments

You can now search for an instrument (tenor sax, vibes, flute, drums etc and see the entire jazz web of that instrument. From there scroll away or filter down to what you are looking for. Many instruments will load 50k or more albums in the timeline so expect a heavy load and a few second delay as the timeline populates.

Expanded matching crawl-

More albums on the boundaries of the jazz genre are now checked against to Apple Music so you should see less 'not on Apple Music' warnings.

New widget- Needle Drop

This widget does one thing- you press play and it plays a random track. That's it. It's a fun way to discover something completely new.

Artist page banners dynamically resize to save vertical space- this is especially helpful on smaller devices when using the collab -> pair aritsts view.

OFFLINE LISTENING:

You can now download tracks for offline listening. This is a two step process: create a playlist, export it to Apple Music, download it, and then return to sessionography. Sessionography will also cache relevant album artist, personnel images and other information for a better offline experience.

YOUR LISTENING PAGE:

'Your Listening' page is now linked to the relevant explore page. When you tap into 'see all' there is now a search bar to more easily find what you are looking for. 

MORE TIMELINE FILTERS:

Filter any album timeline by artist, instrument or group size. The filters are limited by available data and will not include albums lacking the data we are trying to match.
 
More accurate collaborator linking. Most artists see a modest increase in collaborator matches. Mid career artists in many cases see a doubling.

Simplified a lot of the explanation text and hints across the app.

Tapping an Artist with Discogs only profile from the now playing page would take you to a non working artist page

Fixed MacOS crashes 1.0.8 Sep 21 What's new:

-Get an alert for every new jazz release from a label:
On the label page tap (...) then 'notify about new releases'
-Nofiication management now in settings;
Toggle off notifications you aren't interested in
-Searching for a tune- now lists composer under the tune title
-All explore pages now have a back button- the last page will take you to the 'Start Exploring' page with artist suggestions and recently explored list
-Improved the flow of the back button so- avoiding scenarios that would previously interupt the back history chain causing you to start fresh
-Adjustments to the IAP page

-Fixed a bug with favorites in which the saved cache could fill up and not allow you to favorite- bug discovered by a Sessionography power user- thanks Paul!
-Fixes a few CarPlay bugs that could not record some aspects of listening history to the app

-Explore tab- when nothing is loaded the page now shows a strip of artist suggestions along with a list of recently visited

-The home screen is now personalized with listening history from Apple Muisc-only jazz listening history is taken into account. This feature can be toggled off in settings. Listening history within Sessionography is unchanged- this is always taken into account for personalizing the home screen.
 
-Improved navigation clarity from the now playing screen. Now when you tap an artist or album you will briefly see the last page you were on before being redirected to the new page.

-Bio page now feature the full wikipedia bio not just the intro 

-Artists with producing/engineering credits will now display those albums in their sideman timeline with labels clearly denoting their role.

-Number of recordings indication was missing in wider layouts- now fixedTappable composer link was missing from wide layouts- now fixed

-Fixed a case in the collab graph when you could apply a filter and all collaborators would remain grayed out
-Fixed a case where some records that had record label data were not showing the label. More album pages will now show the label. (Albums with no label data attached will still of -course not display this!)

-Rare Meetings could sometimes show a compilation that both artists are on- but in reality didnt' record together. Added a gaurd against this case. 1.0.6 Sep 7 -Some artists with upcoming concerts will now show links to buy tickets
-Improved daily rotation on favorites and live sets home screen shelves
-Long press live sets cards to remove and mark as 'not interested' which will preven that artist from returning
-Fixed a scroll freeze that could happen in some cases on the favorites tab
-Changes to the recording year timelines that better place recordings that lack exact recording dates- in most of these cases can pretty confidently place the album within a year of recording
-Jazz score algo tweaked and now rescues around 3k smaller artists that didn't meet the jazz score threshold.
